Correction of Bilateral Cleft Lip with Black Method

Abstract
|

|
The reconstruction of the bilateral cleft lip is very difficult problem in the department of the plastic surgery. Although many authors have tried to repair the bilateral cleft lip, still there are no procedure that satisfy all surgical
objectives
for
the bilateral cleft lip.
Form January 1990 to July 1991, we had experienced 6 cases of the complete bilateral cleft lip which were reconstructed by Black method. The follow up study was carried out from 6 months to 2 years.
@ES The followings were the results.
@EN 1) The symmetricity was good the tension of the upper lip was low.
2) No tissue was discarded, and it could preserved natural vermilion white line.
3) Itenabled functional lip movement by repaired the muscle primarily and made deep labiogringival sulcus.
4) It made the scar on philtral ridge and full appearance of the upper lip.
5) It preserve option for future columella lenthenign by using the forked flaps.
